( ENSPIRE Sports ) Gervonta “Tank” Davis Defends His Title Against Ricardo Núñez

Baltimore- The quick and heavy-handed boxer Gervonta “Tank” Davis will be coming back to his native hometown Baltimore, MD to defend his Super Weight title against  Ricardo Núñez.

Davis has been one of the up and coming boxers that have struck gold early in his career. He has such a great gift with breaking down his opponents by being patient and understanding that you can push the pace of the fight by fighting your fight and not your opponents.

Davis has a record of being undefeated with 21 wins and 20 of his wins were knockouts. However, Davis faces a challenger who is aggressive with the jabs and very skilled with throwing power shots to the body. Ricardo Nunez is the challenger and a lot of critics wondered why Davis chose this unknown boxer. Known or unknown, Nunez is ready for the challenge. His record is 21-2 with 19 of his wins coming from knockouts.

Nunez is coming into this fight with a chip on his shoulder. He has not lost a fight since 2015 and he feels like this is his chance to rewrite history, as well as his career. Nunez is a very aggressive fighter and will push the pace of a fight, at times his guard is too wide and he takes a lot of beating with jabs or hooks.

This could be an interesting fight because now the world will see if Davis is up to the tasks of fighting someone who will push the fight and not chase after him.

The fight will be Saturday, July 27
Live on SHOWTIME® from Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore &
Presented by Premier Boxing Champions.
