Phoenix Mercury’s shining star Briann January has been sprinkling her positive energy off the courts. At the start of the season, January invested time to help out the homeless, as well as partnered up with Save The Family non-profit. The non-profit helps families that are homeless and take them on a shopping spree.

“Community outreach is important to me because serving others helps us grow individually and collectively while strengthening our connectedness and widening our impact,” said January. “I want to do anything that I can do to show someone that I have been in their shoes or that I understand their struggle. That connection can help change someone’s life or give them that encouragement that they need. I am so lucky to be able to use my position as a WNBA player to help form those connections and give back to others.”

January has been very active with showing support for the LGBTQ community. She has given tickets to people who are in the LGBTQ community to games and she’s actively supportive of the community.

January is very appreciative of the position and role that she plays with having a bigger platform to use in a positive way and she has taken full advantage of it.
