Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Kappa Zeta Chapter of Brooklyn, NY were all about the spirit of Christmas with their projects of servicing families this holiday season. Sigma Kappa Zeta whose motto is “Extolling Excellence and Discouraging Satisfaction with the Second Rate.” It stands on one of the founding principals of their organization ‘Service’ collaborating with organization Catholic Charities for their St. Nicholas Holiday Project.

This project focused on shopping for gifts to afford hundreds of children during the holiday season and partnering with Mount Ararat Church for a Christmas in Brownsville toy giveaway. This program gifted over 150 gifts to children from the Ocean Hill community for ages 3-16. “This year our chapter members and our youth auxiliary groups helped with both organizations to pick toys and wrap them, we are very happy to have been able to partner another year with Catholic Charities and Mount Ararat Church!”

Sigma Kappa Zeta chapter was chartered September 7, 2001, and has proudly served children and women in need in the Brooklyn community through various outreach activities, “We know that many residents in our Brooklyn Community may not have the means to celebrate during the holidays as they’d like, what better way to help share the spirit of the season than by helping to put a smile on a child’s face by brightening their day!” said chapter president Andrea Wright.
