( ENSPIRE Community Spotlight ) Hip Hop Legend LL Cool J Suprised His Community As He Came Out To Support His Camp
Last weekend LL Cool J decided to come out and surprise 200 kids that showed up at his 15th annual Jump & Ball Community Camp in his hometown Queens, NY. The camp was launched in 2005 and has been a successful month-long event ever since it started. The program was developed as an opportunity for the kids in the community to not only learn the game of basketball but also learn team building and leadership skills critical to life off the court.
The kids, parents, and everybody that attended had a good time dancing to some live music, as well as a special performance by the Harlem Globetrotters, free food, free back to school haircuts and more. LL Cool J has never been a stranger to giving back.
Jump & Ball is a free and fun-filled camp every Saturday & Sunday during the month of August for hundreds of kids from Southeast Queens. The program was developed as an opportunity for the kids in the community to not only learn the game of basketball but also learn team building and leadership skills critical to life off the court. Youth between the ages of 8-17 in Southeast Queens are invited to participate in Jump & Ball — a competitive basketball camp and other neighborhood engaging activities.
