Earlier this month, a weekend buzz turned into a roaring celebration as Moët Hennessy USA hosted the wrap party for Spike Lee’s highly anticipated adaptation of the 1963 Japanese thriller High and Low. The event marked the film’s completion and signified the reunion of Denzel Washington and Spike Lee after nearly two decades.
High and Low, initially directed by Akira Kurosawa, tells the story of a wealthy businessman whose world is shattered by his son’s kidnapping. A ransom demand adds to the tension, but a shocking twist throws the entire case into question. Lee’s adaptation promises to maintain the core elements of this suspenseful narrative while injecting his signature style and addressing contemporary social issues.
The wrap party was a star-studded affair, drawing who’s who from the film industry.
