Sam Vadakekut is a beacon of transformative stewardship, urging individuals to align their wealth with divine purpose. Vadakekut, a Wealth Strategist, Kingdom Stewardship Advisor, and the author of “About My Father’s Business: Enslaved vs. Entrusted – Strategic Kingdom Stewardship in Business,” Sam’s mission in financial planning delves into the heart of biblical principles to unlock true financial freedom. With over 25 years of entrepreneurial experience and a profound understanding of over 2,000 scriptures, Sam empowers individuals and businesses to break free from the debt cycle, cultivate lasting impact, and live with unwavering integrity. Vadakekut is a visionary entrepreneur studying money, wealth, and stewardship for over 15 years.
He has developed strategies to help others retain more of what they earn. At first, he had overcome financial struggles and slowly built a successful career as an entrepreneur and trusted advisor. Now, he established a strategic wealth advisory firm to help individuals and businesses use their resources wisely with a big, successful payoff. His methods are nontraditional financial planning that results in tax-free, risk-free growth and empowers his clients to protect their lives and income assets.

Vadakekut began his Kingdom stewardship when he took inspiration from Proverbs 22:7: “The borrower is a slave to the lender.” He recognized the enslaving power of debt and how it can hold you back. His God’s financial system, rooted in trust service and divine purpose, anchored him, which drove him to educate himself in financial literacy and wealth. Another proverb that stuck by him and aligned with his mission and values was Luke 2:49—“Didn’t you know I must be about my Father’s business?” Through his system, he has built and scaled businesses across industries, including real estate, commercial construction, healthcare, and sports. He is a serial entrepreneur. One of his most notable successes was transforming a struggling, debt-laden business into a thriving six-figure enterprise within 18 months by applying biblical financial principles, strategic planning, and prayerful guidance. Vadakekut’s debut book “About My Father’s Business: Enslaves vs. Entrusted—Strategic Kingdom Stewardship in Business” provides practical tools and relatable stories to help readers achieve financial freedom while fulfilling their God-given purpose. A mentor and coach, Vadakekut has coaching programs to empower entrepreneurs, CEOs, and leaders in the marketplace. He wants to inspire people to live abundantly, steward wealth wisely, and create eternal legacies that reflect God’s love.
Vadakekut shares his revelation that shifted his perspective regarding wealth from enslaved to entrusted. In addition, he describes in his book “About My Father’s Business” the steps and biblical principles paired with finance. He teaches the balance of financial success and spiritual integrity, along with the significance of marketplace apostles and their role in life and wealth. Lastly, Vadakekut shares his online courses, coaching program, and legacy.
Can you pinpoint a specific moment or revelation that shifted your perspective from ‘enslaved’ to ‘entrusted’ in your approach to wealth?
Some moments in life redefine us, shatter our illusions, and reveal a more profound truth. For me, that moment came through the crucible of business failure. It was a painful experience that stripped away my pride and forced me to re-evaluate everything I thought I knew about success. More specifically, I released ownership and control of a business I helped build due to a misunderstanding with my partners. At that moment, I recognized the deception of wealth and the importance of trusting God, who truly owns everything.
Yet, in that very darkness, I discovered the bedrock of true prosperity: resilience, unwavering faith, and a commitment to eternal values. I realized that setbacks are not signs of defeat but profound spiritual and professional growth opportunities. This experience reshaped my business and wealth management approach, aligning it with God’s unwavering purpose and transforming my perspective from earthly gains to heavenly investments. This shift, from feeling enslaved to material pursuits to feeling entrusted with resources for a higher purpose, freed me to pursue financial strategies rooted in biblical stewardship and impactful giving.
Your book, “About My Father’s Business,” delves into aligning finances with biblical principles. For readers who might be new to this concept, what practical, actionable steps can they take to integrate Kingdom stewardship into their financial lives?
The journey can seem daunting for those just beginning to explore Kingdom stewardship, but it starts with a simple yet profound shift in perspective. Here are a few practical steps:
- Start with Prayer and Intention: Ask God for wisdom and guidance in managing your finances, and invite Him into every decision.
- Acknowledge God as Owner: Begin by acknowledging that all you have belongs to God (Psalm 24:1). This changes your perspective from ownership to responsible stewardship.
- Create a Kingdom Budget: Review your income and expenses. Prioritize giving back to God, charitable causes, and Kingdom-minded investments. Let generosity be a cornerstone, remembering Proverbs 11:25: “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
- Embrace Contentment: Cultivate gratitude for what you have, rather than constantly chasing after more. As 1 Timothy 6:6 says, “Godliness with contentment is great gain.”
- Avoid Debt: Strive to live debt-free, as debt can be a form of bondage (Proverbs 22:7).
- Seek Wise Counsel: Find a mentor or financial advisor who shares your values and can provide sound, faith-based guidance.
- Study Biblical Principles: Dedicate time to studying scriptures related to money, wealth, and stewardship. My book, “About My Father’s Business,” offers a starting point with devotionals, journaling prompts, and practical applications for daily transformation.
- Practice Ethical Business Practices: Conduct all business dealings with honesty, integrity, and fairness, honoring God in every transaction.
- Give your first fruit: In Deuteronomy 26, Moses instructs the Israelites to bring the first portion of all their harvest to the Lord. This tradition is known as offering the first fruit. It demonstrates faith that puts God first, acknowledging Him as the provider and source of all blessings. Today, giving the very first thing you earn is unnecessary. Instead, give the best you can afford, whether it’s your time, your talents, or your treasures.
- Seek Community: Join a community of like-minded believers who can provide accountability and support in your journey of Kingdom stewardship.
Remember, Kingdom stewardship is not about rigid rules but a transformed heart and a renewed mind, understanding that your financial life is an integral part of your spiritual journey. By consistently applying these principles, you can transform your financial life from enslavement to freedom, purpose, and eternal significance.
You’ve worked with numerous entrepreneurs and business leaders, helping them scale their businesses while maintaining Kingdom values. In a world often driven by profit at any cost, how do you guide them in balancing financial success with ethical and spiritual integrity?
Guiding entrepreneurs to balance financial success with Kingdom values is a core part of my calling. It begins with helping them define success beyond the bottom line. I use the framework: People, Purpose, Process, Profit. It starts with building a foundation of values and seeking God’s guidance, which creates a culture of integrity that permeates every aspect of the business. I teach them to make decisions that align with biblical principles of justice, fairness, and compassion, even when it means sacrificing short-term gains for long-term impact. For those I mentor to maintain Kingdom values while operating in a competitive market, here are a few tips I share with them:
- Establish a Strong Ethical Code: Create a company culture centered on honesty, transparency, and respect for all stakeholders.
- Prioritize People: Treat employees, customers, and suppliers with dignity and fairness, recognizing their value as image-bearers of God.
- Give Back Generously: Integrate giving into your business model, supporting causes that align with your values and serving your community.
- Seek Accountability: Surround yourself with wise counsel and mentors who can provide guidance and hold you accountable to your ethical commitments.
- Operate with Transparency: Be open and honest in your dealings, avoiding any form of deception or manipulation.
- Value Eternal Impact: Continuously evaluate the impact of your business decisions on people, communities, and the environment, seeking to create a legacy that honors God.
- Remembering the “Why”: I always remind them to stay grounded in the Kingdom “Why?” – Why did God give you this business? Whose lives are you called to serve? What legacy are you creating that will outlive you?
Ultimately, I encourage them to view their businesses as a platform for ministry, an opportunity to demonstrate God’s love and grace in the marketplace. By prioritizing values, ethics, and purpose, entrepreneurs can create businesses that generate wealth and positively impact the world, leaving a legacy that honors God.
You refer to entrepreneurs and leaders as ‘marketplace apostles.’ What does that term mean to you, and what unique role do these individuals play in advancing the Kingdom of God in today’s society?
The term “marketplace apostle” resonates deeply with my vision for Kingdom calling and impact. Drawing from the Greek word Apostolos, meaning “one who is sent off,” it refers to believers who are called to advance God’s Kingdom through their vocational expertise, ethical leadership, and spiritual authority in secular industries.
Unlike traditional church-based apostles, these individuals operate primarily in business, finance, education, healthcare, and other professional spheres, embodying Christ’s mission in everyday workplaces. Their role merges spiritual purpose with practical skill, transforming industries and cultures through a biblical worldview.
As Billy Graham prophesied, “The next great move of God will manifest through believers in the workplace.” Their legacy isn’t wealth but transformed nations—where workplaces reflect heaven’s values.
In essence, marketplace apostles are the hands and feet of Christ in industries, proving that the boardroom, classroom, and hospital can be as holy as the sanctuary. They challenge the “profit-at-all-cost” mentality, prioritizing integrity and justice, becoming hubs for ethical innovation, employee welfare, and community upliftment.
They also steward resources to fund missions, charities, and societal transformation, embodying “Cyrus anointing” (Isaiah 45:1–3) and unlocking “treasures of darkness” to rebuild God’s purposes. They rebuild broken systems as gatekeepers of societal transformation, partnering with church leaders to resource global missions and shift cultural narratives. By redirecting capital to fund Kingdom projects, they break cycles of poverty and exploitation, leaving an imprint of God’s love on the world.
Marketplace apostles demonstrate that every believer, regardless of their vocation, has a vital role in advancing God’s Kingdom on earth, proving that business can be a powerful force for good.
Looking beyond financial success, what is the legacy you hope to leave, and how do you envision your work impacting future generations regarding Kingdom stewardship and financial wisdom?
Beyond any measure of financial success, my deepest desire is to leave a legacy of transformed lives, empowered to live out their God-given potential. I envision a future generation equipped with the knowledge, wisdom, and passion to steward their resources for Kingdom impact. I want to create a ripple effect of generosity, ethical business practices, and financial literacy that extends far beyond my own lifetime.
I hope my work will inspire others to view wealth as a tool for transformation, not just accumulation, and to embrace their role as marketplace apostles, bringing God’s love and justice to every sphere of society. Ultimately, I pray that my legacy will be one of faith, hope, and love, pointing people to the ultimate source of all blessings.
