( ENSPIRE Entertainment ) A Multi-Generational Lineup of Powerhouse Women Takes Center Stage, Celebrating Legacy, Evolution, and Cultural Impact in Music

The Essence Festival of Culture® is set to return to New Orleans from July 3–5, 2026, bringing with it a dynamic lineup of women whose impact on music and culture continues to shape the industry. Hosted at the Caesars Superdome, this year’s Evening Concert Series centers on artists who have not only broken barriers but redefined what longevity, influence, and creative ownership look like. Among the headliners are Cardi B and Latto, both making their Essence Festival debuts, alongside Kehlani, returning icons Brandy and Monica, and the incomparable Patti LaBelle.

Each artist represents a distinct era and evolution of sound, yet all share a common thread: they have carved space for themselves—and others—in an industry that often demands more than talent alone. Cardi B has reshaped the cultural landscape for women in hip-hop, pairing chart-topping success with unapologetic authenticity. Latto, representing a new generation of Southern rap, continues to build on that momentum with multi-platinum hits and a confident lyrical presence that reinforces women as leaders in the genre. Kehlani brings a different, but equally powerful, energy to the stage. As a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, she blends vulnerability with intention, using contemporary R&B as a vehicle for storytelling that resonates across audiences.

The return of Brandy and Monica marks a full-circle moment for fans of R&B. Both Grammy Award-winning vocalists helped define an era of collaboration and vocal excellence, and their continued presence reflects the enduring influence of their artistry. Closing out the lineup is soul legend Patti LaBelle, whose career spans more than six decades. Her legacy extends beyond performance—she has set the standard for stage presence, vocal mastery, and artistic discipline for generations that followed. Additional performers, special guests, and programming announcements will roll out in the months leading up to the festival, continuing Essence’s tradition of building anticipation through curated reveals.

Beyond the evening concerts, the Essence Festival of Culture® remains a multi-dimensional experience. Daytime programming, held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, will spotlight filmmakers, beauty innovators, authors, and entrepreneurs—creating space for connection, creativity, and community impact.

The 2026 festival builds on the cultural creator model introduced in 2025, expanding opportunities for storytelling and collaboration across industries. This year’s programming includes the Essence Food & Wine Festival™, BeautyCon™: @EssenceFest Edition, Afropunk BLKTopia™, Essence Film Festival® by Essence Studios™, and Essence Stage™, alongside returning experiences such as Soko Mrkt™ by Essence®, Essence Authors™, Essence® GU® Kickback, and GBEF® HQ.
