( ENSPIRE She Did That ) TIME Will Host Women of the Year Gala March 10 in LA

The annual “TIME” Women of the Year List was recently announced, recognizing 16 women leaders working towards a more equitable world. “TIME” Women of the Year List launched in 2020 in partnership with P&G. The initiative highlighted100 influential women from the past century as a way of correcting the record and addressing the legacy of the Man of the Year franchise, which was known as Person of the Year only in 1999. For 2026, these 16 women are: Teyana Taylor, Lucy Liu, Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Chloé Zhao, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Mel Robbins, Mariska Hargitay, Amy Sherald, Reshma Kewalramani, Isata Dumbuya, Sister Norma Pimentel, Safeena Husain, Mahnoor Omer, Kecia Steelman, and Reshma Saujani. Teyana Taylor is the honoree who graces the “TIME” cover. The actor, singer, songwriter did an in-depth interview with Lucy Feldom that delves into earning an Oscar nomination for “One Battle After Another,” returning to music with her new album “Escape Room,” and more.

One profound comment during Taylor’s interview was regarding the criticism surrounding her “One Battle After Another” character, who decides to abandon her family to continue activism. Taylor states, “Maybe men would look at Perfidia as selfish. It felt good to see a woman put herself first in a world where we’re forced to be strong. We’re forced to be supermoms, superwives, superwomen—to the point that when we take off our capes for a little bit, we don’t even get grace.” Her words show that women don’t need to adhere to the pressures of success and to just be authentically themselves through their failures, achievements, and learning experiences.  In addition, “TIME” will be hosting its annual Women of the Year Gala on March 10 in Los Angeles. There will be an appearance by Taylor herself, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Chloé Zhao, and more, with a performance by Brandi Carlile. Lastly, there will be a Women of the Year Leadership Forum afterward, featuring conversations on equity. Presented Target and signature partners Booking.com, Toyota, and Deloitte, and supporting partner Maker’s Mark Kentucky Bourbon, the Leadership Forum will gather leaders from global TIME100 and TIME communities for a series of solutions and mobilizing action towards a better, more equitable world.

“At a moment when global progress demands bold and decisive action, the 2026 Women of the Year remind us that individual leadership remains one of the most powerful catalysts for change,” said “TIME” CEO Jessica Sibley. For the fifth year in a row, “TIME” is recognizing women working to create a more equitable world. These 16 honorees are addressing pressing issues confronting women and girls in 2026. TIME once again is empowering women, gracing them with the acknowledgement and awareness that audiences and readers around the world can aspire to. The “TIME” Women of the Year Gala in 2026 will be a celebration that moves those attending. Now more than ever, women should foster community and strive to be the best versions of themselves. Making an impact to empower each other and inspire, through the good and the bad, is what the Women of the Year List does every year for women and girls. You can view the list on “TIME.”
