( ENSPIRE Community ) Xposure Foundation Inc. and NYC Department of Youth & Community Development Holds Anti-Bullying Film Screening for “Dear Bully”

The Dear Bully screening was a youth-driven red carpet event that was held April 2nd at School of Visual Arts Theatre in New York. Media, city officials, and students across multiple after-school programs were invited to the screening. The event was sponsored with snacks and beverages from MadeGood Foods and Vita Coco. Famed Hollywood director, Eric Dean Seaton offered giveaway items from his new comic book series, The Legend of the Mantamaji. The event featured a screening of the film in its entirety followed by a moderated panel Q&A with the cast from the film. Music was curated by DJ Lilmann and all enjoyed, even got up and danced! It was meaningful because other kids from New York City public schools had the opportunity to see their peers take their experiences and put in on screen. Xposure Foundation LLC is living up to its name by exposing the youth to be creative and be apart of something meaningful to help others. There was so much excitement during the Q&A session. To hear how these young kids responded to questions from their peers was a glimpse into the amazing potential of their futures. The movie screening and session afterward was something a lot of these kids have never experienced. And for other youth to see it right in front of them made this experience realistic for them to know that if they put their mind to something it can be done. Everything about this film and the screening was educational, positive, uplifting and motivational not just for the kids but for others who were there to support.
The talented individuals behind this necessary film included Malcolm Small, Shadaje Small, Marvin Hatchett Jr., Alexus Alejandro, Brianna Holley, James Waldron, Shazard Grant and Executive Producers, Raymond L. Thomas Jr., and J. Marcelle Lashley-Kaboré.
The screening for Dear Bully was created as an anti-bullying initiative supported by the
Department of Youth & Community Development in New York. It helped bring awareness to bullying and combated the notion that youth don’t have a voice. The film Dear Bully was created by the students of Xposure Foundation Inc., and it really showcases their talent and that they want to inspire kids all over to take a stand against bullying.
