( ENSPIRE Exclusive ) Monifah Tells Her Story Her Way! Don’t get it twisted, Monifah has been working on her life for quite some time now. In our next issue, we have an exclusive interview with Monifah as she discusses how it was coming up in the music industry. She was a young mother who made a choice to pursue her dreams to take care of her family.
On the season finale of Iyanla Fix My Life, you will see Monifah and her daughter work on their relationship that was once difficult. She was young and unlike some mothers, during the 90s she had the trust of her mother to look after her daughter to pursue her career. Touring and time commitment was a responsibility expected of an R&B superstar but clearly took away from her being with her daughter. She talks about taking responsibility for her parenting and how the industry had nothing to do with it. Monifah spoke about owning up to her choice to continue her career because she felt her mother was the best choice. Now in a better space spiritually and mentally their relationship continues to grow on a new level. From being in a music industry that did not want to acknowledge her sexuality, to working with Heavy D, Monifah brings us up to speed on her latest endeavors.
