Diamonds have become more than just a girl’s best friend, everyone is joining in on the fun. Thursday, December 5, 2019, I got the opportunity to attend gemologists, Mike Nekta’s grand opening of his new jewelry store. With an increasing demand for the precious gems, Mike Nekta is just the right person to help anyone find the best jewelry for themselves or their loved ones for the right price. “Diamonds are hard, Mike Nekta makes them easy.” The jewelry professional is a third generational expert who’s learned the business from the ground up and has decades of experience.
The jewelry store is fairly accessible, located right by the B and D train in the heart of the diamond district in New York City on 74 W 47th St. The location is exquisite. Large glass cases line up on opposite sides displaying an array of gleaming jewels. Many people attended the champagne-filled diamond exhibition including social media influencers Daniel Jean and Carol Maraj: the mother of hip hop superstar Nicki Minaj. Mr. Nekta was a delight. He walked around greeting each guest. The crowd was served with champagne and some delicious sweets and treats and left with their own personal goody bag. Mr. Nekta’s devoted customers and everyone who attended the event can attest that he doesn’t only display the most exquisite pieces but he also educates his guests about them.
