Kimberly Jones-Pothier, also known as Real Talk Kim, has made a name for herself as a pastor and the bestselling author of Shut Hell Up: When the Enemy Brings Up Your Past, Remind Him of Your Future. In her book, Real Talk Kim teaches readers how to reject negative thinking and develop a better image of themselves and a better relationship with God. Now, she’s taken the message of her book and transformed it into the online course It’s Time to Shut Hell Up.
Through her course, Real Talk Kim wants to reach anyone stuck in their own personal hell. This 7-week course includes video lessons, live Q&A sessions, and an individual workbook, all of which are meant to help people overcome self-doubt and embrace their purpose as a child of God.
In her book, Real Talk Kim draws from her own experiences to help others get through theirs. Now, she hopes this course expands upon the lessons of her book and gives her students the opportunity to engage more personally with her work.
“My personal walk through this life was so hard for so long because I was driven by the battlefield in my mind,” she says. “I conquered it. I live a life of freedom and joy now. I know I can help people get free. I am doing it daily! This e-course is a tool to help further the space in which God can use me more . . . Creating an e-course on my book was so important to me because it gave me the ability to break down each section of the book and walk my students through each area of deliverance and freedom.”
Real Talk Kim believes that the biggest challenge people are facing today is the image they have of themselves. It’s that negativity she hopes to free people from so their lives can stop being ruled by insecurity and self-doubt and instead be led by confidence. By teaching people to reject negative thinking, Real Talk Kim helps people deal with their emotions and experience the freedom of a clear head and fulfilling life.
“We are usually our worst critics. We have a hard time forgiving ourselves for things and feeling worthy of deliverance and freedom,” she says. “I hope everyone who takes my course walks away with a true experience from Jesus, understanding that freedom looks good on them. I pray they are completely set free never to go back to anything in their past that they were sabotaging their lives with.”
