DJ M-Fresh joins Harlem’s own G.R.A.C.E. (Granting Resources and Community Enrichment) to kick off the school year right with their 4th annual Back to School Block Party. The event is completely free and will take place at Savoy Park on (Sept. 10) from 12-6 pm.

As an organization, G.R.A.C.E. realizes that the beginning of the school year is an especially stressful time for families financially. Their annual Back to School Block Party is intended to provide Harlem families and school-aged children with resources, materials, and funds to help alleviate some of their school-related stress. In addition to the financial support that these families will receive at the event, the Block Party will also include fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.

If G.R.A.C.E receives sufficient community and volunteer support, the Back to School Block Part will include the following activities and many more:

● Back-to-school supplies giveaway
● Entertainment (live music, dance, and music performances)
● Interactive art lessons and games (some organized, and some not)
● Sports and fitness activities
● Haircuts and hair tutorials
● Face painting and magicians
● Delicious foods and drinks
● Pony rides, puppy adoption trucks

In order for this event to be a success, G.R.A.C.E is looking for local organizations, businesses, entrepreneurs, and volunteers to assist them with the event and enable them to provide some of the activities listed above.

In exchange for their services and assistance, volunteers and sponsors will be featured on the final event flyer, and receive individual recognition in the newsletter, and on G.R.A.C.E.’s social media accounts. G.R.A.C.E. is also interested in fostering partnerships with supporting businesses and organizations, which will allow them to provide the Harlem community with similar support and events in the future.
