Dulé Hill is starring in a brand new series premiering on April 23rd, 2024. The Express Way With Dulé Hill, directed by Danny Lee, follows Hill as he travels around The United States to discover artists who use their creative spirits as an agency for self-expression and positive impact. The series will explore the power of the arts for people from many walks of life. On his trip, Hill will travel across the country to California, The Appalachian region, Texas, and Chicago. He plans to meet with local activists and changemakers who use their artistry to enact meaningful change in their communities and take audiences along on an emotional journey as he moves through these different regions.

As a multitalented actor, dancer, and singer, Hill will meet with many different artists, including painters, dancers, musicians, theater performers, and more. “The arts are what drive me,” Hill said, and he will explore what art drives others, how they have overcome hardships, and what they are doing to inspire and improve their communities. Director Danny Hill has also mentioned his affinity for the power of the arts, saying, “As a filmmaker of color, art has not only been a way to be seen, but a deeply transformative force in my life.” PBS as a network also emphasizes how creativity can empower people and drive positive change.

Dulé Hill has been a celebrated performer for over a decade and was noted to be “the perfect person to be [the] guide” through the artistry of people across the United States by the Chief Programming Executive and General Manager of General Audience Programming at PBS, Sylvia Bugg. Hill has appeared numerous times on screen, including his Emmy-nominated role of Charlie Young in The West Wing and his portrayal of Burton “Gus” Guster on Psych, for which he also served as a producer, which earned him four nominations for the NAACP Image Awards for “Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series.” Hill is also on the SAG-AFTRA Board of Directors.

Hill is being directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, Danny Lee. He has directed several documentaries, including the acclaimed “Who is Stan Smith?” Lee also founded CALICO, the production company behind The Express Way With Dulé Hill. The company is entirely BIPOC owned and dedicated to culturally authentic and impactful storytelling through inventive filmmaking.
