The Motivated Mom Retreat is back; this year, it’s bigger and better than ever! After a hiatus because of the global pandemic, The Motivated Mom is thrilled to announce the 2024 honorees who will be celebrated at the highly anticipated retreat. This year’s event honors remarkable moms and dads across Texas, recognizing their dedication to education, philanthropy, ministry, and business. The ceremony will occur during the retreat’s Converse + Cocktail Dress Soiree, a glamorous evening filled with inspiration and fun. Latoyia Dennis, founder of The Motivated Mom since 2016, emphasizes the importance of acknowledging these phenomenal parents. “Each honoree holds a special place in our hearts,” said Latoyia Dennis, host of The Motivated Mom Retreat. “We are beyond proud of them and the outstanding work they do every day. Their passion, dedication, and commitment to making a positive impact in the community and the lives of others while being a present and engaged parent deserve to be recognized. They are inspiring, and we are honored to celebrate these individuals.”
The honorees include Nicci Gilbert-Daniels, the lead vocalist of the iconic R&B group Brownstone, who is the 2024 Motivated Mom of the Year. Laterras R. Whitfield, the host of the popular relationship podcast Dear Future Wifey, is the first-ever recipient of the Motivated Dad of the Year Award. The retreat boasts an impressive list of additional honorees, including educators like Dr. LaTanya Goffney and Dr. Michael Sorrell, philanthropists Thana Hickman and Richard Miles, religious leaders Stephanie Carter and Pastor Chris Simmons, and business leaders Sheena Payne and Roland Parish.
The Tate brothers (Larenz, LaRon, and Lahmard) will lead the Celebrity Dad’s Panel, adding a dash of Hollywood glam to the event. Comedian Jason Earls will keep the audience entertained, while actor and DJ Flex Alexander will take the reins on the music front.
But the celebration doesn’t end there! Rose Rock, mother of Chris Rock and a recipient of the Motivated Mom of the Year award in 2019, will return this year as a presenter. This signifies the official renaming of the award in her honor, a testament to her remarkable story.
This retreat is more than just an awards ceremony; it’s a chance for moms and dads to unwind, recharge, and connect with like-minded individuals.
