( ENSPIRE Community Spotlight ) Tylenol Celebrates Unsung Heroes with “Unofficial Sponsor of Mascots” Campaign

Hey ENSPIRE readers, Ese Ofurhie here! Today, I had a chance to experience a new side of the sports world thanks to Tylenol’s “Unofficial Sponsor of Mascots” campaign. I am all about having a good time and working out, so I was all too excited. This is like a merger of my passions for sports and cartoons.

Let me tell you, being a mascot is way more complex than it looks! I participated in a training session designed to mimic the challenges mascots face, and it was no walk in the park. We donned weighted vests to simulate the bulky costumes, performed balance exercises to test our core strength and even did explosive jumps to mimic the mascots’ energetic routines.

But this event wasn’t just about breaking a sweat. Tylenol is using this campaign to highlight the dedication and athleticism required to be a mascot. These often-underrated performers bring immense energy and excitement to every game, and Tylenol recognizes their hard work.

Here’s what impressed me most about Tylenol’s initiative:

  • $50,000 Donation to College Mascot Programs: Many college mascot programs struggle with limited funding. Tylenol’s generous donation will provide much-needed support to these programs.
  • Social Media Sweepstakes: College mascots can share their stories of training and perseverance on social media for a chance to win $10,000! It’s a fantastic way to celebrate these athletes and their unique experiences.
  • Partnership with a Mascot Trainer: Tylenol partnered with professional mascot trainer Jeromē Bartlett to create a realistic training experience and educate the public about the physical demands of being a mascot.
  • At-Home Workout: Inspired by mascots’ grit and determination, Tylenol offers a “Train Like a Mascot” workout that anyone can do at home.
TYLENOL® is stepping up as the ‘Unofficial Sponsor of Mascots’ this playoff season and sharing unique training tips from professional mascot trainer Jeromē Bartlett.

I also learned much from a 17-year mascot veteran, Jeromē Bartlett, who shared his experiences. It was eye-opening to hear about the dedication and physical toll of the role.

This entire Tylenol campaign goes beyond just promoting pain relievers. It’s about acknowledging the unseen athletes who contribute to the fun and spirit of the game. It’s about giving back to programs that might not have the spotlight and encouraging everyone to get active and embrace the challenge. You can catch them spotlighting mascot athletes in the new national:15 TYLENOL® Game Face Ad airing across FOX, CBS, and NBC during playoff games, including the pre-show on February 9. It will stream on Hulu, Max, Peacock, and Paramount+ through February 15.

So next time you see a mascot at a game, take a moment to appreciate the hard work and dedication they bring to their role. And who knows, maybe you’ll even feel inspired to try your “Train Like a Mascot” workout!
