The Ginsburg Institute for Health Equity at Nemours Children’s Health has awarded $120,000 in grants to five Central Florida organizations dedicated to advancing community health through collaboration. The grants support those focused on critical areas such as education, economic stability, nutrition, and mental health, as well as projects designed to improve the lives of children and families across the Florida region. “The recipients of these grants have demonstrated a profound commitment to improving the health and well-being of children and families in our community,” said Nancy Molello, Executive Director for the Ginsburg Institute. “We’re thrilled to support these transformative projects and equally excited about the partnerships they will cultivate, which can inspire lasting collaboration for years to come.”

The five organizations receiving grants from the Ginsburg Institute for Health Equity at Nemours Children’s Health are tackling key community needs through creative partnerships. The University of Central Florida College of Medicine and ELEVATE Orlando are working together to introduce students to medical careers through hands-on experiences that aim to inspire the next generation of health professionals. Cristo Rey High School and the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida (BGCCF) are enhancing after-school enrichment programs that support students in building critical leadership skills for academic and personal success.

Wolomi supports maternal mental health by connecting mothers to licensed counselors, resources, and community support through an accessible digital platform. Meanwhile, 4Roots, HEBNI Nutrition, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida are launching a collaborative effort to combat food insecurity. Their initiative focuses on increasing access to healthy food and nutrition education within Orange County Public Schools. Lastly, BGCCF has partnered with the REED Charitable Foundation to provide students with high-quality literacy materials and educational support, ensuring more equitable access to learning resources across Central Florida.

These grants reflect a broader mission to transform community health through innovation and cooperation. By funding organizations prioritizing equity and engagement, the Ginsburg Institute continues to foster impactful change, building a healthier and more resilient future for children and families throughout Central Florida. Nemours Children’s Health seeks to transform children’s health by adopting a holistic health model that utilizes innovative, safe, and high-quality care while addressing children’s needs beyond medicine.
