( ENSPIRE She Did That ) Breaking the Silence: Marcia N. Cole Shines a Light on Domestic Violence Against Men

ENSPIRE Contributor: Seanna Nona

In a world where domestic violence narratives overwhelmingly focus on female victims, one woman is boldly shifting the conversation. Marcia N. Cole, a transformational leader, registered nurse, empowerment speaker, and author, is using her voice to spotlight a painful, often-ignored truth: men, too, can be victims of abuse.

Marcia’s mission is deeply personal. Her beloved brother was tragically murdered in a domestic violence incident. From that devastating loss, she rose not in bitterness but in purpose. Her newly released book, Shattered Yet Unbroken, serves as both a tribute to her brother’s memory and a courageous effort to raise awareness about male victims of domestic violence, particularly in the Black community.

“Too often, men are shamed into silence or dismissed when they speak up about abuse. My brother didn’t deserve what happened to him. No one does. This book is about giving voice to those who’ve been silenced.” – Marcia N. Cole

Through her book and her platform, Faith, Focus, & Finish Strong Zoom Talk, Marcia helps others heal through stories of faith, resilience, and restoration. She is committed to advancing mental health awareness, spiritual growth, and emotional healing for individuals and families affected by trauma and loss.

Her advocacy also carries deep cultural weight. In many Black households, topics like mental health and abuse remain taboo. Marcia’s transparency and strength challenge those norms, offering a safe space for open dialogue, healing, and transformation.

Outside of her advocacy work, Marcia is a wife and mother of three. She balances family life with her calling, embodying faith in action. Her journey reflects personal healing and a commitment to helping others reclaim their voices and lives.

With Shattered Yet Unbroken, Marcia N. Cole is not just telling her story—she’s rewriting the narrative for countless others. Her work is a powerful reminder that healing is possible, voices must be heard, and that domestic violence affects more people—and genders—than society often acknowledges.

Marcia’s voice rises from tragedy with strength and compassion, inviting the world to listen, reflect, and act.
