( ENSPIRE Music ) Long Beach Hosts the July Warped Tour, Let’s Get Jumping

Warped Tour, the epitome of all things pop and punk rock, is rolling through July with legendary and up-and-coming bands like 311, ADTR, Honey Revenge, Destroy Boys, and more. Having been created in 1995 and ending in 2019, with the historical coming back for their 30th anniversary this year, has been a joy to see for us punk fans.
Warped Tour is not just a musical festival though it’s a place that shines a light on new and old artist, gives a platform for music that was and is still seen as too aggressive, and also a place that isn’t afraid to advocate and give a platform for non-profit organizations like Invisible Children, A Voice for the Innocent, and more.
Punk music has never been afraid to highlight feelings of depression, emotional growth, and feeling like a pariah. I know many of us, including myself, find peace, relatability, and escapism in punk or pop-rock music. With bands like Tonight Alive, Movements, Mom Jeans, Silverstein, and so much more writing songs like Teeth, My Heroine, Nineteen, and World Away, we punk fans have found a community we belong in.
It is no exaggeration to say that music saves lives. As Simple Plan said, “This Song Saved my Life”, to have these bands together singing these songs that we grew so connected to makes everything worth it. We, together as fans, see that we are not alone, and together we lean on each other and shed a tear or two as our favorite bands belt out on stage.
Punk music is about being loud, unapologetic, defiant, and a place for us who are misfits or misunderstood. Together, we support one another and rock out together. Whether at Warped Tour or a headline tour, let’s express ourselves and not be afraid to show our true colors.
