Kendrick Lamar’s unforgettable Super Bowl LIX halftime performance has earned him four Emmy Award nominations, solidifying the hip-hop icon’s influence and powerful artistry.
Lamar received nominations for Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Music Direction, and Outstanding Choreography (Variety/Reality). These nominations underscore Lamar’s impact as a performer and his lasting mark on the music industry. His ability to merge storytelling with dynamic visual production continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX performance was produced by Roc Nation and Jesse Collins Entertainment. It featured guest appearances by SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Mustard, and Serena Williams—each adding a unique element that helped elevate the show as a celebration of Black excellence and cultural pride.
This is not Lamar’s first Emmy recognition. He was also part of the Emmy-winning Super Bowl LVI halftime show alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent—an iconic performance that paid tribute to West Coast hip-hop.

Lamar’s hit single “Not Like Us,” which won Record of the Year at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, was performed during his halftime show and sent the crowd into a frenzy—quickly going viral across social media.
Super Bowl LIX’s halftime show broke the record as the most-watched Apple Music Halftime Show ever, with 133.5 million viewers. Lamar also made history as the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show—drawing massive attention and acclaim.
