Serena and Venus Williams are proving that their influence stretches far beyond the tennis court. At this year’s U.S. Open, the sisters unveiled the Williams Family Excellence Program, a new initiative created in partnership with the USTA Foundation. The program is designed to support young people from under-resourced communities, providing opportunities in education, tennis, and career development. Intending to reach more than 2,500 youths annually by 2035, the initiative reflects the Williams family’s belief that access and opportunity can change lives.

The program focuses on three key areas: developing athletic talent through advanced training and competitions, offering scholarships and grants for higher education, and preparing youth for professional success through internships and entrepreneurship opportunities. By blending athletics, academics, and leadership, the Williams sisters hope to inspire the next generation to “dream big and leave their own marks.”

In addition to this groundbreaking initiative, the sisters are set to launch a video podcast later this year on X (formerly Twitter). Produced by Serena’s media company, Nine Two Six Productions, the podcast will feature conversations with innovators, creators, and rule-breakers who share the Williamses’ drive to challenge norms. Known for their authenticity and playful banter, the sisters plan to use the platform to connect with audiences in a more personal way.

Together, these ventures demonstrate how Serena and Venus are redefining their legacy. No longer just champions of tennis, they are now champions of opportunity and storytelling. Whether through a young athlete finding a pathway to college or a listener tuning into an inspiring conversation, the Williams sisters continue to open doors. Their latest moves make one thing clear: their greatest impact may come after the final serve.
