( ENSPIRE Entertainment ) Hollywood, Advocacy, and Culture Collide As the Truth Awards Honors the Voices Redefining Black LGBTQ+ Legacy

The Truth Awards, one of the premier celebrations of Black LGBTQ+ excellence and allyship, has unveiled its most dynamic lineup yet for the 12th Annual Truth Awards, set to take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Hosted by award-winning actress Vivica A. Fox (Independence Day, Kill Bill, Two Can Play That Game), the annual gala—presented by Better Brothers Los Angeles (BBLA) in partnership with The DIVA Foundation and powered by ViiV Healthcare—will bring together influential voices across entertainment, media, advocacy, and culture.

Adding to the evening’s impact, five-time GRAMMY Award winner Lalah Hathaway will headline the night’s performances, delivering a soulful musical experience that reflects the depth and richness of Black artistry.
This year’s theme, “Saving Ourselves. Together We Rise.”, emphasizes unity, resilience, and collective responsibility—highlighting individuals whose work continues to shape culture and push communities forward.
The 2026 class of honorees represents a powerful cross-section of leaders and creatives: Don Lemon will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for his influential journalism and global reporting; Jenifer Lewis will be honored with the Ally Award for her unwavering advocacy and support of diverse communities; Carlos King will receive the Media & Arts Award for his impact as a television producer and storyteller; Flame Monroe will be recognized with the Entertainer Award for her contributions to comedy and entertainment; Durand Bernarr will receive the Music & Arts Award for his innovative sound and artistry; Nneka Onuorah will be honored with the Breakout Star Award for her rising influence in film and television; and Dr. Keith Green will receive the Bayard Rustin Advocacy Award for his leadership in social justice and community organizing.

The ceremony will also feature an impressive lineup of presenters, including Sheryl Lee Ralph, Karine Jean-Pierre, LisaRaye McCoy, Terrell Carter, and Steven G. Norfleet, among others—each contributing to a night centered on representation, authenticity, and impact.
A special highlight of the evening will be a 30th Anniversary tribute to Waiting to Exhale, honoring the film’s lasting cultural legacy through performances by Toni Scruggs, Keisha Reneé, Isaiah Zay, and Johnny Manuel.

Fox and Lalah Hathaway and recognizing our honorees’ achievements, we are showcasing a vibrant tapestry woven from courage and authenticity.”

Echoing that sentiment, Sheryl Lee Ralph emphasized the significance of the moment, noting that the celebration reflects both progress and a continued commitment to ensuring diverse stories take center stage.
As the Truth Awards continues to grow in influence and cultural importance, the 2026 ceremony stands as a powerful reminder of the impact of visibility, community, and collective progress.
