Botros shares how happiness is a daily practice and what someone can do for the world towards their journey to everlasting joy. In addition, she delves into her being called the Happiness Activator and her growing up, which was the lifestyle she envisioned for herself. Furthermore, Bortros discusses how her motivational speeches impacted others and their perspectives on life. She also offers important advice for what you can do during very difficult times. Lastly, she explains the five key ingredients: smile, move, invest, love, enjoy, and examples that represent them.

You say happiness doesn’t just happen but is a daily practice. What is one thing anyone can do starting today to work towards their journey to everlasting joy?
Start training your brain to find the positive in everything and choose your words carefully when you speak. Here is the truth: what you focus on becomes your reality, and what you say out loud, your brain starts to believe. If you keep saying you are tired, stuck, or overwhelmed, that becomes your truth. But if you start seeing the little wins and speaking them into your day, your energy shifts. That is how you create joy that lasts. Not by chasing it, but by choosing it… over and over again.
You are known as the Happiness Activator. When you were growing up, was this the lifestyle you envisioned?
Not even close. I grew up chasing the perfect. I thought if I looked a certain way, achieved enough, and followed the rules, happiness would just happen. And for a while, it looked like I had it all together, but it was only on paper. I was completely disconnected on the inside. It’s when I stopped chasing the life I was supposed to live and started creating the one I actually wanted. I started genuinely smiling and feeling content. Becoming the Happiness Activator wasn’t the plan, but it became who I am today and my mission.
How does it feel to know that your motivational speeches have changed the perspectives and lives of many people?
It’s honestly one of the most meaningful parts of what I do. Every time someone comes up to me and says, “You said what I’ve been feeling for years,” it reminds me why I show up. I don’t speak to be inspirational, I speak to be real and create the shift. If my words help someone feel seen or give them the push to make one change in their life, then it’s worth it. My goal is to help people reconnect with themselves, and if that changes their life, there’s no better reward.
When someone reaches a border or a limit, what advice would you give them to empower them during difficult times?
First, stop fighting it. Most people, when they hit a limit, either panic or push harder. And that usually makes things worse. The best strategy is to take a breath and step back, and ask yourself, “What is this limit trying to teach me?”
Sometimes it’s showing you that you need rest. Sometimes it’s pointing to a boundary you keep ignoring. Either way, it’s not the end. It’s a sign. The goal isn’t to break through everything. The goal is to understand what’s in your way and decide how you want to move forward.
Your approach to happiness consists of five key ingredients: Smile, Move, Invest, Love, and Enjoy. Could you share some examples of how each of these ingredients benefits a person and how they can be practically applied in everyday life?
Fifty percent of our happiness comes from genetics, and only ten percent from external factors, and, let’s be honest, we all base our happiness on those tiny ten percent. The good news is that the remaining forty percent comes from intentional activities. The five ingredients from my book “The Happiness Cocktail” are those intentional activities.

- Love is the most important one, as everything starts with self-love. Speak to yourself with the same compassion you give others. When that becomes your default, it transforms every relationship in your life.
- Smile is another great one. Smiling is the fastest way to trick your brain into releasing feel-good chemicals, even when you don’t feel like it. It takes two seconds and doesn’t cost a thing. So start your day with a smile.
- Invest is about where you put your time and energy. Invest in what fuels you, most importantly, invest in yourself, with boundaries, rest, and self-worth practices that rebuild your inner joy.
- Move can be physical to release your dopamine, but it can also mean moving your life from the ordinary, the comfort zone, to the extraordinary, your dream life. Say yes and take the first step toward the life you have always aspired to.
- Enjoy is about taking advantage of the moment. Stop saving joy for the weekends or for when the work is done. Remember, fun isn’t a luxury, it’s a recovery.
