Today’s leading artists, politicians, activists, performers, and journalists discover surprising ancestral stories while learning their family history in the fifth season of the critically acclaimed series “Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr.” Professor Gates, the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor at Harvard University and director of the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research, continues exploring the mysteries, surprises, and revelations hidden in the family trees of 25 of today’s most intriguing cultural trailblazers.
In the new episodes for “Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr.,” most of the well-known people will discuss with Gates Jr., on the history of their ancestry. Some will find the most interesting, emotional, and spiritual of the historical marks within their family tree. It’s also a chance for the guests to learn more about their race, identity, and heritage.
Tune in with the guests on their journey of learning about their ancestors. New episodes for season 6 will premiere on Oct. 13th at 8 p.m. ET on PBS.
