On March 1, Dress for Success Worldwide—the leading global nonprofit employment resource for women—launched its largest annual campaign: Your Hour, Her Power. The campaign celebrates Women’s History Month in the United States and International Women’s Day. For the first time in the campaign’s history, Your Hour, Her Power honors 31 trailblazing women served by the Dress for Success network of 139 affiliates across 22 countries. This outstanding group of women reflects Dress for Success’s global footprint.
The campaign microsite, yourhourherpower.org, will spotlight each honoree on her unique day in March. They will share their stories of determination, perseverance, and finding the courage and confidence to create better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities. Your Hour, Her Power raises funds for the free programming Dress for Success provides to unemployed and underemployed women in their pursuit of economic independence.
“I am thrilled to announce that, this year, our largest annual campaign will recognize, celebrate, and honor the incredible women we have the privilege of serving across our global affiliate network,” Michele C. Meyer-Shipp, CEO of Dress for Success Worldwide, said.
“These women have overcome tremendous obstacles in their journeys to become economically independent. They are now community leaders and agents of change who embody our diversity, mission, and values. We are grateful to them and to all who support our commitment to help women thrive from the inside out.”
Dress for Success also recognized several remarkable individuals who are the 2024 Your Hour Your Power ambassadors. The list includes last year’s honoree Sunny Hostin, a three-time Emmy Award-winning Co-Host of ABC’s “The View” and New York Times bestselling author, Laura Kim, Oscar de la Renta’s Co-Creative Director and Monse’s Founder and Co-Creative Director, and Brandon Maxwell, Creative Director of Brandon Maxwell.
Dress for Success’s success in helping women become economically independent shows that empowering women can be done in practical, tangible ways. Supporting women can and should occur year-round, not just during Women’s History Month—and ENSPIRE embodies that by shedding light on women’s stories in the media. Empowerment doesn’t have to be complicated; sometimes, it just means giving people a platform to voice their stories or resources to succeed.
