Summer is a season filled with play, adventure, and learning, but it can also present challenges for parents striving to keep children active and healthy. That’s where Dr. Letisha Jefferson steps in. A board-certified pediatrician, award-winning children’s book author, and dedicated advocate for childhood literacy and wellness, Dr. Jefferson blends over a decade of clinical expertise with the warmth and relatability of a nurturing parent.
Drawing inspiration from her dual role as a physician and mother, Dr. Jefferson authored Zoe’s Day with Dr. J, a vibrant picture book that helps ease children’s fears about doctor visits. More than a story, the book encourages curiosity, confidence, and self-advocacy, offering families a valuable tool to approach healthcare in a positive, empowering way.
Beyond her writing, Dr. Jefferson is a champion for community impact. She serves on the board of the Early Learning Coalition of Duval and the nonprofit ScienceSiS, while also volunteering with Read USA.
