( ENSPIRE Black Business ) HOPMR CEO Patty Myasia Combines Faith, Black Culture & Fashion Through Apparel and Home Décor

From hand-painted bags to custom apparel and beyond, Haus of PMR (HOPMR)…merges faith, Black culture, and fashion. HOPMR was founded in September 2020 and has created ‘wearable art’ through its clothing pieces, being rooted in Black pride and unapologetic luxury. According to CEO and founder Patty Myasia, the Haus of PMR’s motto, “Black Joy is Revolutionary,” is the brand’s core, and with every piece they create, there is a message. In a few years, the brand expanded to become a lifestyle collection featuring handcrafted apparel, printed pieces, and home décor. Each creation honors Black women and Black culture as a whole through faith, cultural storytelling, and artistry.

Myasia delves into the balance between luxury and wearable art through Haus of PMR’s motto, “Black Joy Revolutionary.” In addition, she walks through the creative process—from inspiration rooted in Black culture and faith to the final product. She also describes the challenges of expanding Haus of PMR while keeping it consistent with the brand’s mission. Furthermore, Mysasia showcases her collections and shares her long-term vision for Hause of PMR for all lifestyle decor and fashion pieces.

Patty Myasia

Haus of PMR’s motto, “Black Joy is Revolutionary,” is central to all its apparel, art, and lifestyle pieces. How do you balance the ‘unapologetic luxury’ and presentation of ‘wearable art’ in your designs and lifestyle collection?

At Haus of PMR, luxury is defined by purpose, not price. “Unapologetic luxury” means showing up boldly in our blackness, creativity, and truth. Every piece begins with intention: to celebrate, restore, and honor Black women and Black culture without compromise. Each design is crafted with sacred detail: from painted strokes to print motifs and color choices that speak life. Luxury lives in the message, and the message is always liberation.

Could you walk us through the creative process—from initial inspiration to the final product—based on your unique blend of Black culture, faith, and storytelling? How do you ensure each piece translates a specific cultural narrative?

My creative process starts in reflection. Through prayer, music, the way the world treats Black/Brown people, and my own stored memory. Inspiration is drawn from the language of our people: rhythm, symbolism, and divine storytelling. From there, sketches become stories. Painting and print-crafting bring the emotion forward until each design feels alive with intention. Every piece asks the same questions: Does it tell our truth? Does it hand the flowers back? Only when the answer is yes, does it become Haus of PMR.

HOPMR expanded from a lifestyle collection in 2020 to home decor in 2025. What are the challenges and decisions involved in expanding a brand so quickly, and how do you ensure that Black joy and pride remain consistent across each product line, including apparel, beyond home furnishings?

Growth brings both blessings and testing. One of the biggest challenges has been maintaining the intimacy of a handcrafted brand while scaling production. Moving from one-of-one statement pieces to larger collections required careful decisions. Expansion moves fast, but Haus of PMR must always move with purpose. Expansion tests identity, but for Haus of PMR, Black joy and pride are the foundation, not the embellishment. Every new collection must carry the same spiritual and cultural pulse. Whether it’s apparel or décor, the goal is to create pieces that feel like affirmations: faith-rooted, culture-rich, and art-led. Color theory, symbolism, and ancestral memory remain consistent across all designs. Growth never means dilution; it means higher amplification of our truth.

For those new to HOPMR, please provide a brief description of the collections and what they offer from an artistic, Black cultural, and storytelling perspective.

Haus of PMR is where faith, culture, and fashion merge into wearable art. Our collections include statement apparel, hand-painted and printed pieces, and home décor rooted in storytelling. Artistically, they celebrate Black womanhood, spirituality, and the beauty of the diaspora. Each design honors the originators — Black women and Black culture — through art that can be worn, hung, or held. It’s a reflection of purpose, pride, and bold faith. Blackness as luxury. Joy as revolution.

What is your long-term vision for the HOPMR to deepen its home décor and apparel collection?

The vision is expansion with intention. Haus of PMR will continue growing into a full creative house, offering experiences that connect faith, identity, and design. Future plans include collaborations, art installations, and faith-based residencies that highlight Black artistry on a global scale. Every step forward will center Black women and cultural preservation. The mission remains timeless: to tell our stories through art and remind the world that Black joy will always be revolutionary.
