Based in Connecticut in the United States, Brazza International Foundation (BIF) is dedicated to serving the underserved in Africa. Many developing countries direly need assistance, especially to fulfill the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Brazza brings relief to those in need locally and internationally. Currently, pandemic recovery is at the top of their agenda, along with their ultimate goal of training motivated and competent healthcare workers and creating a functional health system. Brazza pursues three goals: (1.) To properly equip rural healthcare centers and hospitals for COVID-19 cases, (2.) To educate and create awareness on the Continent about the rampant current public health challenges in the COVID-19 era, and (3.) make health care and social protection available to all people in these rural communities, regardless of their position in society, and at a cost that is affordable to these focused countries.

Brazza’ International’s short-term goals are to provide basic human services to all people, especially to youth and those in rural and underserved communities. Their long-term goal is to aid both local governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in building infrastructure. The Foundation seeks these goals to give dignity to those living in the least-developed countries and give them a robust foundation to continue developing. Altogether, they seek to achieve UN SDG #3: “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.”

Brazza is also part of the Global Health Initiative, a collaboration between the Washington Metropolitan Area chapter of the United Nations Association (UNA), Georgetown University, University of Maryland – School of Nursing (UMSN), and Tyler Consulting Group (TCG). Brazza is particularly beneficial during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing basic medical supplies to local and overseas hospitals. The collaboration has helped communities to meet their urgent medical needs both in the US and Africa. This also gives them an advantage, as they can use the information they gathered to help other nonprofits and businesses achieve their priorities. Realizing this, Brazza seeks to collaborate with both the public and private sectors, the international and local community, and international financiers to reach their potential and onboard others toward the solution.
