Three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Wyclef Jean performed at the Chefs of the Caribbean Celebrity Brunch. This was a special event commemorating Haitian Heritage Month. This event was presented by City of Miami Chairwoman Christine King, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Keon Hardemon, and the Little Haiti Optimist Club. Overall, the brunch was a tremendous success highlighting delectable dishes and high-profile celebrities.

Chefs of the Caribbean is all about celebrating the love of the Caribbean culture. They want people to explore the vivacious nature of the islands with great fun and happiness. As an exciting brand, they strive to offer products and services that are enriched with an endless blending of authenticity and spicy flavors. Their celebrity brunch with a Haitian Heritage Month focus was an excellent display of their mission and values.

Attendees also enjoyed an Art Beat Miami Haitian Heritage Month art exhibit. Part of this included receiving a Haitian Heritage Month commemorative poster entitled: Together for a Better Little Haiti. Art Beat Miami is an annual satellite art fair showcasing emerging and renowned artists from Haiti and around the world. Here, Art Beat Miami was uniting multidisciplinary artists working in collaboration to highlight the culturally rich and diverse creativity of local artists (Haitian artists in particular).

In sum, it’s important to spotlight and encourage the Caribbean Diaspora here and beyond. The art, cultural exchange, food, fashion, and music inspired by Haiti specifically, and Caribbean artists worldwide are topics that many people don’t know about. Organizations like Art Beat Miami and Chefs of the Caribbean, among the others that contributed to this event, are crucial in educating the population about their cultural nuances.
