Shan’e is new to the Chicago R&B scene, but she’s making waves with her music. Her single “You So” is graced by her melodic vocals, backed by a bouncy and upbeat production from Eesh. The song’s tempo slightly slows down in the second half which highlights Taylor’s voice and lyrics before ending in the same energetic flow that started the track.
The song also carries a warm and passionate message with Shane serenading her partner for all the things he does right. With a hypnotic beat that’s easy to bob your head to and a catchy hook that will be hard to forget, “You So” is Taylor fully showcasing her strengths as an artist.
Her single is also part of her brilliant debut album “Figure it Out” which includes six unskippable songs, including “No Hands” in collaboration with artist Nova Gholar.
Her album also includes collaborations with veteran producer Fred “Toxic” Taylor, who has collaborated with popular artists such as Cardi B, Offset, Diddy, Twista, Keyshia Cole, and now Taylor Shan’e. She also collaborated with Aesha Dominguez on tracks such as her lead single, “You So,” and “Tonight.” Dominguez previously worked with rappers Cybertrash and Tink.
Various media outlets have been singing praises regarding herself, her style, and her addictive music. WhatstheWord describes Shan’e as a “millennial contemporary R&B singer on the rise” and “a Chicago native cut in the jagged-edged vein of SZA, Kehlani, and Summer Walker.”
Shan’e has expressed on her social media that she hopes with her music, but more importantly her debut album, she is able to show her authenticity, dedication and hard work.
