( ENSPIRE Community Spotlight ) The Grasshopper Club Officially Cut the Ribbon to Open the First Dispensary in South Loop Chicago

Chicago’s only independent & black-owned dispensary, the Grasshopper Club opened the South Loop’s first dispensary last week. Matthew Brewer, the founder & Owner of Grasshopper Club, and 4th Ward Alderman Lamont Robinson gave remarks on the historical moment including an artwork unveiling by local artist Nikko Washington. This is their second location after making history by opening its first location in Logan Square in February 2023 becoming the city’s first and only black-owned dispensary.
Between its prime locations in both Logan Square and South Loop, Grasshopper Club joins a small number of dispensaries with multiple locations throughout the city. Last week Grasshopper held the ribbon cutting at the new location at 58 E. Roosevelt. The Brewers matriarch, Dianne Brewer made the first transaction! Grasshopper Club was created to change how people explore cannabis. As a Chicago-based, independent, and black-owned business, they are committed to creating a diverse ecosystem in the industry.
