Vina Love, daughter of iconic DJ and rapper Kid Capri, has been making a name for herself in the music industry. The talented artist is a proud Harlem, New York native. At her release party for her latest track, “Around You”, Mayor Eric Adams of New York recognized her for her contributions to her community. She positively impacts her community through her music and philanthropy.
Vina has been propelled into the spotlight with her hit singles, “My City” and “Options”, demonstrating her talent and versatility as an artist. Vina’s newest single, “Around You” is an upbeat, catchy track that makes you want to get up and dance. It features Vina’s extensive vocal range and talent, captivating audiences with the song’s sound and message. It is a unique combination of R&B and island rhythms. Vina performed at the release party and is said to have an “undeniable stage presence”.
The single’s release party took place on August 22, 2023, and featured recognizable figures such as Kid Capri himself. He gushed over his daughter stating, “I’m very proud, shoutout to Mayor Adams for recognizing my daughter Vina Love’s hard work and dedication. Keep being great, babygirl”.
In addition to music, Vina is passionate about giving back to her community. According to a press release, Vina Love participates in clothing and back-to-school drives for the youth, homeless individuals, and single mothers. She spoke at Wilberforce University’s class of 2020, where she encouraged graduates to pursue their dreams and overcome obstacles, inspired by her own experiences.
Vina takes part in panel discussions for Ballin 4 Peace, which is an at-risk youth non-profit organization that promotes anti-violence and anti-drug use to students. These are issues that are often prevalent in low-income neighborhoods such as Harlem. Vina’s involvement shows her passion for the topic, raises awareness, and encourages the youth to make positive choices.
Vina’s talent, hard work, and dedication to helping others does not go unnoticed. She has been using her platform to help others and serve the community that made her who she is today. She’s aware of the influence she has and is using it to make a difference in the lives of others.
