Dr. Letitia Wright is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic Care, aka D.C., who went from having her own practice to venturing into TV Hosting. She graduated from medical school and opened her own practice. However, it was a trying time, and she had difficulty finding resources, mentorship, and funding. TV was another route she pursued, which led to the creation of her show, Wright Place, which is now in its eighteenth season. Her media work precedes her; she is a Top 100 Crowdfunding Expert and Consultant, specializing in providing funding for women and minority-owned businesses. Because of her experiences in building her medical practice, Wright wants to help uplift and support voices. She founded Wright Place Studios, where her show is broadcast. Overnight, Dr. Letitia Wright became an entrepreneur and TV professional.

Dr. Wright has built ROKU, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV Channels. She is also a 2019 Nominee for the 47th District Woman of the Year. In January 2020, Dr. Wright created the Are You An Entrepreneur Program for previously incarcerated women. Her entrepreneurship skills were taught in many areas worldwide, starting in 2016 in Maui, where she presented and spoke to the participants for Maui and Oahu Start Up Week. She taught at Dallas Start-Up Week in 2016. In July 2020, she taught entrepreneurial skills in Vietnam. In November 2018, she became a faculty of The Global Excellerated Business School for Entrepreneurs, teaching in Phuket, Thailand. Other accomplishments include her teaching entrepreneurship classes for students in Orange County.

Dr. Wright tells us about her educational journey, how she went from chiropractics to crowdfunding and business, the goal for Wright Place Studios, her travels spreading her entrepreneurship knowledge, and more.

Tell us about your educational journey. When did you take an interest in chiropractic, how did you become a crowdfunding expert and consultant, and how has this benefited you in the TV industry?

Since I was three years old, I have told everyone I wanted to be a doctor! The dream was always very innate, but I believe the fact that my mother worked for a chiropractor when I was around 11 contributed to my curiosity. Sitting in the waiting room, I would do my homework, waiting for her to get off work and witness magical transformations take place. I saw patients walk in slowly and suffering—clearly in pain—and leave smiling and happy. They were getting almost instant results. I looked up to Dr. Thie and decided I, too, wanted to be a Chiropractor. I even studied Touch for Health and became one of the youngest practitioners under his tutelage.

In 2010, I became a Crowdfunding Consultant and Expert because I had such a deep interest in helping business owners. Banks were stingy with loans, leaving many people with nowhere to turn. I studied on my own. Only two Crowdfunding Books were available on Amazon, but I kept studying and started practicing my skills with clients and teaching at the SBA in Los Angeles (Glendale). The Crowdfunding skills have been instrumental in my Media and TV work because I know what it takes to truly raise money for good projects. And so, I’m able to do it for myself as well.

What is the goal of Wright Place Studios, and what are you continuing to achieve in the TV industry

I’m passionate about helping people to get their voices out there so that they can create the change they truly wish to create in the world. My overarching goal is to help 100 people get their vision created and so far, I’ve spearheaded the creation of 45 channels! My goal, until 2040, is 40 more. There are so many unique voices that could help so many people—and I feel it’s my responsibility to help them get heard.

What was it like being a faculty member at The Global Excellerated Business School for Entrepreneurs?

The experience was incredible and just exactly what I have always wanted! Getting to travel the world! The school moves from country to country; it will be in Thailand next year. Sitting alongside world-class leaders and teaching with them is a humbling and beautiful experience. A bonus is that I can sit in on any class I’d like to review. The opportunity is truly everything to me, and I can’t describe how much I enjoy it. The students are incredibly bright people with great ideas.

You’ve taken your entrepreneurship knowledge to Maui, Oahu, Thailand, and Canada, Grand Cayman, Australia, Malaysia, and much more. Based on the locations, were there certain distinctions on what entrepreneur tactics would work for these individuals? What was your teaching process?

There are so many distinct differences and things to consider when speaking to different crowds. Europe tends to have less energy than the United States, with too much energy causing them to become suspicious. Southeast Asia people are exceptionally intelligent, like going deeper into subjects and challenging dense subject matter.

They don’t enjoy surface level conversations. Similar for Australia. The Caribbean and Hawaii are more laid-back but still expect high-value teaching. It takes a bit of getting used to people attending business events barefoot there, but if you can get past that, great opportunities abound!

With where you are now in your career, would you build or rebuild your chiropractic care practice?

To be honest, at this time, I don’t think so. I’m very happy with where I am now and the pivots, I have made in my life to create that happiness. If I did ever return, it would be a practice where I could let people pay what they want and be free to treat them, helping them to truly get well, and not handling insurance issues! I don’t think so, I am very happy with

where I am not. If I did, it would be a practice where I could let people pay what they want and be free to treat them to get well and not just handle insurance issues.

I have considered doing that for a year or two before I retire for good. I’d have a wait list… and it might be interesting! But, for now, my interests lay more with the Media and Crowdfunding Side.
