( ENSPIRE Community Spotlight ) Well-known rapper Big Slim (Slim Thug) Hosts a Toy Drive at the newest Checkers in the Houston area

Rapper Big Slim, formerly known as Slim Thug, is not only a prominent rapper from the Houston area. The “Big Boss of the Nawf” (Northside of Houston) recently hosted a Holiday Party & Toy Drive at the newest Checkers in Baytown, Texas. He hoped to gift the toys to children in the Houston area as a community benefit. Slim celebrated with friends at the event to bring holiday cheer; The Black Santa of Houston and LaTavia Roberson of Destiny’s Child.
Last year, Big Slim collected over 500 toys with Checkers for the children. This year, they partnered once again, collecting over 500 toys and gifting them to the Baytown Police Department. The BPD intends to distribute the toys to children in the community.
The event was full of food, prizes, giveaways, snow complimentary of the Baytown Police Department, and a special meet and greet with The Grinch – and free of charge to the public.
In the past four years, he has been partnering with Checkers for other initiatives in the city to benefit the community. For example, he hosted a Halloween Spooktacular event and helped charities in the Houston area. Slim has even created a meal at Checkers, the Big Slim Meal. The partnership between Checkers and Slim continues to benefit Houston.
“This is one of my favorite times of the year and it brings me great joy to continue to partner with Checkers to bring something special to the community,” said Big Slim.

Amid the holiday cheer in the Houston area, Big Slim made a profound difference in the community with his holiday party and toy drive, providing over 500 collected gifts to children in the Baytown community. His collaboration with Checkers boosted the impact that he had in uplifting his community as a Houston native, and their continued partnership is sure to bring more beneficial initiatives to southeastern Texas.
