Houston, Texas’ own Inayah has just released a live, acoustic version of “For The Streets,” a powerful song that centers on breaking free from toxicity in relationships. The track is a modern adaptation of Fantasia’s classic song, “When I See You.” Inayah’s work is often inspired by her own experiences, and “For The Streets” is no exception. She stated that she “was trying to reach the men and women who have finally decided to rid their lives and their time of the BS when it comes to love and relationships.” Inayah’s performance is available to watch on YouTube.

While originally hesitant to release “For The Streets,” nervous to touch an R&B classic, Inayah asserted that this fear fueled her creation of the song. Her new take “was disruptive, it was dangerous,” which only added to the excitement of the release. Her live performance also teases her upcoming single “Hot Sauce.”

Inayah’s musical career has grown exponentially since taking root in 2014. She began by writing songs for a jingle company while uploading covers online. Her dedication to her music paid off when her cover of “Boo’d Up” by Ella Mai went viral, leading her to amass over 1 million followers on Instagram. The cover also caught the attention of Tiffany Haddish, Jamie Foxx, Maxwell, and many more, EMPIRE Records being one such example. She was given a distribution deal and was able to release her album S.O.L.A.R which includes the RIAA Gold and Platinum-certified hit “Best Thing.”

Inayah has seen massive success and continues to grow as an artist. She can be found on Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube. Her music is available to stream on all major platforms.
