Last week, I was honored to attend the Eagle Academy Foundation’s (EAF) 20th Anniversary. It was a powerful testament to two decades of unwavering dedication to empowering young men of color. The Eagle Academy Foundation is a beacon of hope, dedicated to transforming the lives of young men of color through comprehensive education and mentorship. They’ve cultivated a network of schools and programs that champion academic excellence, personal growth, and leadership development for two decades. With a focus on holistic support, the foundation empowers young men to achieve their full potential and become impactful leaders in their communities.
The night began with a captivating poetry performance, setting the tone for an emotional journey through stories of transformation and triumph. The energy in the room was palpable, a clear reflection of the passion and commitment that has driven EAF’s mission for 20 years.

A highlight of the evening was celebrating EAF’s remarkable journey and setting the stage for its future endeavors. It was a landmark celebration of the Foundation’s legacy and a pivotal moment. The event’s hostess, actress, and comedian Kerry Coddett added to the vibrant atmosphere. Her presence was electric, and her comedic timing kept the audience laughing throughout the evening. Kerry, the founder of the Kwanzaa Crawl, brought a unique blend of humor and community spirit to the celebration.

The gala also featured an engaging auction where attendees could support EAF’s mission by bidding on various vacations, celebrity meetups, and more. Furthermore, the evening included a moving awards ceremony, recognizing individuals and organizations that have played a vital role in the Foundation’s growth, prosperity, and recognition. These awards honored the dedication and contributions essential to EAF’s success.

The gala’s core focus was celebrating education, mentorship, and leadership. Witnessing the remarkable young men of the Eagle Academy for Young Men network filled me with immense pride. It was truly inspiring to see the tangible impact of EAF’s commitment to creating environments where these young men can thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Eagle Academy Foundation has had some remarkable achievements:

The evening underscored the critical importance of investing in the future of young men of color. The celebration solidified EAF’s ongoing commitment to this vital mission. Those who believe in EAF’s mission fueled the atmosphere with hope and determination. The pride radiating from the young men was infectious, showcasing the profound impact of their internalized values.
