( ENSPIRE She Did That ) The Country Singer is Growing her Musical Roots and Expanding her Platform

Amy Jack, a renowned country singer and songwriter hailing from Oklahoma, has performed for the national anthem at the Tampa Bay vs. Cardinals football game. Raised by music teachers in Sulphur, Oklahoma, music has always surrounded Jack. In 2020, she released her debut album, Introducing Amy Jack, with the help and guidance of Merle Haggard, a Grammy award-winning country artist. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in TV/Radio/Film, Jack expanded her knowledge of music by working at iHeart Media and Cumulus as an account executive.
Since the release of her debut album, she has had music featured in a host of different events. Some of these events include the U.S. Olympic Committee, ESPN March Madness, and the NCAA Rotary Lombardi Awards. Alongside performing the national anthem at the Tampa Bay vs. Cardinals football game, Jack currently has a new single coming out next month. With all of these spectacular accomplishments under her belt, Amy Jack is surely the new country artist to watch!
ENSPIRE spoke with Amy about her music career.
What inspired you to sing and when did you start singing?
I grew up in a house that was always filled with music – my mother was a piano teacher, and my sister and I loved to sing. My family encouraged me to start singing at school and church, and I remember feeling my happiest while I was on the stage performing, and I still feel that way to this day.
What was it like to work with Merle Haggard on your debut album?
It was a dream come true to work with Merle. Being able to pick his brain and see the standards he had for the music he produced was really inspiring. I’ve always looked up to Merle, and he was nothing short of the best.
Is there anything you can tell us about the newest single being released next month?
In the dead of winter, I was feeling down and wanted to write a song that would make me think of better days to come in the spring. It’s one of my favorite times of year and I wanted to spread joy. It’s all about the excitement of new life, with trees and flowers blossoming as God’s gift to us.
How did you begin your career as a singer?
I was working in radio in Oklahoma City and I felt the calling to go into my own artistry after working with so many musicians. It’s always been a dream of mine to be an artist, and it was such a huge life change. I had to start from scratch and learn the music business and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I’m so glad I did it.
Do you feel like being raised by music teachers has helped you with being exposed to music?
Absolutely, I do. It was such a blessing growing up with such supportive parents that taught me at a young age to love music, and I’ve always held a love for it in my heart. I’m so lucky to say that I’m living my dream, working as a musician.
