Although COVID-19 has complicated many wedding plans, Signature Bride is rising to the occasion with their new initiative, the Love Conquers All Wedding & Honeymoon Giveaway. The contest’s lucky winners are thrown a free wedding and honeymoon by the professional event planners. The company has partnered with WebWed Mobile, the only app that can legally marry people virtually, to provide special moments for couples around the world while adhering to safety restrictions.
The Love Conquers All project was created in light of the pandemic when Signature Bride began receiving feedback from thousands of brides-to-be who felt lost trying to navigate wedding plans with so many unknowns. The luxury bridal lifestyle brand, which caters especially to Black marriages, began using their magazine to publish online articles and videos with celebrity event planner Slomique Hawrylo, but also felt that there was room to do more.
Thus spurred their partnership with WebWed Mobile, a cross-platform mobile application that legally marries couples virtually while also allowing guests to be actively involved in the wedding from anywhere in the world. Together, the two enterprises created the $10,000 giveaway, which caters to a virtual wedding and five-night honeymoon along with financial coaching, name change services, luggage, and body care products through other company partnerships.
So far, the Love Conquers All giveaway has been awarded to two couples: Stuart Pieters and Joycelyn Herndon, who tied the knot on May 30th in the Poconos surrounded by close friends and family, and Brandy Owens and Stephanie Grigsby, who adopted the theme “Black Is Queen” for their October 3rd wedding in Los Angeles. For the second giveaway, Signature Bride partnered with Equally Wed Magazine to throw the women a special Pride wedding that allowed over 100 guests to attend virtually.
Signature Bride describes that adapting to changing times has presented its fair share of challenges, the most important being restricting the number of people on-site at a time. A member of the team describes the detailed procedure for the Poconos marriage: “The team went in early to set up and leave. Our caterer cooked outside. Our on-site planner was there and we had the violinists arrive 30 minutes prior to start time — enough time to set up and position away from the bride/groom and their children. Our photographer and videographer were positioned on the deck and the couple’s kids and parents were part of the wedding ceremony. That was it.”
Despite the ongoing learning curve of pandemic weddings, the sense of fulfillment that accompanies this initiative has made all of the effort worth it. “The most rewarding part of the Love Conquers All Giveaway is knowing that Signature Bride was able to spread some joy and love to help these first responders, who are dealing with so much to keep us safe on all different levels,” the team member explains. “[Everyone should] have an opportunity to have their dream wedding even though their original was canceled or postponed.”
