Acclaimed Harlem Chef JJ of “Just Eats With Chef JJ” aired on Feb. 28 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT. Chef JJ paid homage to his hometown of Harlem with some classic uptown staples by preparing decadent Sticky BBQ Ribs served with Smashed Sweet Potatoes. In addition to the amazing pairing, Chef JJ shared his extra-crispy fried chicken and deep-dish French Toast recipes to showcase his Chicken and Waffles dish. With this cuisine, Chef JJ beautifully placed his pride for Harlem on the plate.

CLEO TV served up a second helping of quick and savory gourmet on the next episode of “New Soul Kitchen Remix” hosted by acclaimed chef Jernard Wells, aired on Feb. 28 at 9:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. CT. Chef Jernard’s weekly cooking demonstrations provided healthy alternatives to viewers’ favorite classic dishes.
Chef Jernard shared his date night play book with viewers by whipping up an original shrimp scampi served with mixed greens and a champagne vinaigrette dressing. In true “New Soul Kitchen Remix fashion,” this shrimp scampi dish—sans the starch—doesn’t sacrifice flavor or health-conscious ingredients.

CLEO Speaks: Politics, Prose & Power
CLEO TV highlighted a third season of CLEO Speaks: Politics, Prose & Power aired Feb. 28 at 9 p.m. /8 CT p.m. The groundbreaking and candid series showcases some of the most powerful and influential women of color in the country to tell their story and speak their truth in an intimate setting.
“CLEO Speaks” featured Aja Brown, mayor of Compton, Calif. She was raised by a single mother and moved around a lot as a child due to financial strain, but experienced her mother’s resiliency and strength during difficult situations. An inquisitive child, Mayor Brown grew up questioning why certain communities and certain families had more than others. Her time at USC, made her fall in love with urban planning and economic development as a way to combat poverty within marginalized communities. With no political campaign experience, Mayor Brown stepped out on faith and embarked on a journey to change systems from the “top down and with vision.” In this episode, Mayor Brown reveals how an invitation to a Bible Study in Compton led her to be the youngest elected mayor in the City of Compton, unify rival gangs, and change the narrative for her community.
