Jabari Banks, a West Philadelphia native, will play the part played by Will Smith in the original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air from 1990 to 1996 in the new series, Bel-Air. The series will air on Peacock, February 13th, landing the show on Super Bowl Sunday.
Bel-air adds an up-to-date stylistic view of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air while encompassing a more dramatic theme. The show captures the West Philadelphia native’s life before experiencing his life in Bel-Air – addressing his life of growing up and facing trying situations.
Second chances are sometimes hard to accept, especially when it’s far from your life’s reality. But, as life goes, you only have one shot; you either make the best of it or walk away from it.
About The New Fresh Prince: Jabari currently resides in West Philadelphia. In 2020, he received his bachelor’s degree from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He is a songwriter, singer, rapper, basketball player, and actor.
