( ENSPIRE Community Spotlight ) Dads Take Over Brooklyn on Father’s Day and In Honor Of Juneteenth Holiday Weekend
Mayor Eric Adams, Brooklyn Borough President, Antonio Reynoso, and The Dad Gang Founder/ Harper Collins Author, Sean Williams, are gearing up for a memorable and positive start to the weekend. The Dad Gang has events planned this Sunday, June 19th (Juneteenth Father’s Day) Prospect Park at Grand Army Plaza (entrance) Brooklyn, NY @ 10 AM.
They are taking over the streets for the 3rd Annual March of Dads and a celebration of Black Fatherhood for a live demonstration to celebrate, empower and unite active Black and Brown fathers, while also debunking the negative stereotypes of black fathers portrayed in media. We need this type of celebration to bring strong, positive males together.
Founded in 2018, The Dad Gang is an organization committed to building a community amongst Black fathers and men globally. The Dad Gang has created a strong, sacred and safe space for Black men to find camaraderie, support, and encouragement to change the perception of Black Fatherhood. Though marred by a racially driven and media-amplified stigma that has led the world to perceive black fathers as widely absent, inactive, or simply unfit parents, The Dad Gang continues to thrive and be the driving force behind amplifying the voices of Black & Brown Fatherhood to dispel the myths.
