ENSPIRE Contributor: Natalie Dean
Entrepreneurship is all the rage right now with new internet celebrities and businesses popping up constantly! But many of the “get rich quick” and “guaranteed success plans” are– to be blunt– not so guaranteed, nor are they designed for the everyday person. The Black Business School is different.
Founded by Dr. Boyce Watkins, the Black Business School is one of several organizations aimed to help young, Black professionals get on their feet. With dozens of classes to choose from and a fraction of the price of a traditional university setting, Dr. Watkins provides a new, unconventional way of achieving success.
18,000 videos and countless inspired minds later, Dr. Watkins is proud to be heading this new adventure.
Watkins himself pulled himself out of poverty when he reached adulthood, so he understands what it means to be struggling and to overcome that struggle. Born to a teenage mother and an absent father, he has learned to make his own way in the world, and he is determined to pass on this knowledge to those who need it. He even left a teaching position at Syracuse University to found the Black Business School!
Over 150,000 students worldwide have benefitted, receiving quality education without the enormous price tag. The program also offers a 30-day free trial, so that if you decide this is not the right path for you, there is no financial burden.
The sets the goal of not only educating its students, but creating a community of Black scholars, economists, and entrepreneurs to empower and uplift each other. They are also proudly 100% Black-owned.
