The New York Times Critics Pick, A Sherlock Carol, returns to New World Stages this holiday season for a limited engagement. The play unites the Dickens and Doyle classics A Christmas Carol and the detective Sherlock Holmes. Performances begin on November 21 and opening night is on November 28. The last performance will occur on January 1, 2023. In accordance with the new tradition, a second production will be staged in London’s Marylebone Theatre from November 17 to January 7, 2023.

When a grown-up Tiny Tim tasks Holmes with investigating the strange death of Ebenezer Scrooge, the Great Detective must use his power of deduction to get to the bottom of the crime. It is a dark and treacherous Christmas Eve, haunted by the spirits of Christmas past, present, and future.

The Broadway favorite Drew McVety returns as Sherlock Holmes, joining Allen Gilmore as Scrooge. New to the production are Joanna Carpenter, Dan Domingues, Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Isabel Keating, and Mark Price. Understudies are Joe Delafield, Alexandra Kopko, and Byron St. Cyr

“We are elated to continue the new holiday tradition of A Sherlock Carol this festive season,” said producers Laura Z. Barket, Raymond Bokhour, Drew McVety, and Fred Lassen. “Besides the New York and London productions, theaters across the country can bring this brand-new theatrical blend of Dickens and Doyle to their own communities now that the show is available for licensing through Broadway Licensing.”

Re-staging for A Sherlock Carol is done by Jen Waldman, with Anna Louizos on scenic design. Linda Cho is the costume designer and the original music and the score is provided by John Gromada. Lastly, hair and wig design is by Emmy Award nominee Charles G. LaPointe. A Sherlock Carol is produced by Laura Z. Barket for Theatre Nerd Productions, Raymond Bokhour, Drew McVety, and Fred Lassen for Fat Goose Productions, and executive produced by Nathan Gehan and Jamison Scott for ShowTown Productions
