This self-care chic boutique is a black woman-owned business that focuses on skincare products that are accessible, inclusive to all skin types, and equitable.
Freedom Apothecary has all kinds of holistic skin, fragrance, and lifestyle products. From tinctures, and makeup to books and divination. Want to create your own healthy skincare routine? This boutique offers a menu of facial services, and a blend bar of botanical extracts, oils, and salts to create custom masks, oils, scrubs, and bath salts. It has become a popular destination for skin care and beauty. “I had a dream about this space, what it should look like. I wanted to cater to Black women and women of color, and create a space for freedom, authenticity, and education on holistic living,” says Jenkins.
Jenkins is passionate about women of color in an industry where it’s not often seen.”For me, it’s more of a rebellion, how can I make all of this accessible to Black people, to Black women?” Now Freedom Apothecracy is ready for the next chapter, to expand and give more women access to these products. She has moved her mission to New Orleans. It will be located at 1900 Magazine Street and open early this year.
