( ENSPIRE Community Spotlight ) Rain or Shine, Inspiring Futures of the Youth Take Flight

The air crackled with palpable energy and eagerness as students convened for the Youth Empowerment Weekend, an impactful initiative by Kevin Benoit of Parle Endeavors. As a facilitator representing ENSPIRE Magazine, the experience was truly inspiring, a testament to the crucial work this organization is undertaking to equip our youth for a brighter future. Even with the rainy weather on the day of the event, it was clear that the enthusiasm of the attendees was not deterred. The eagerness and energy from the students who attended were truly inspiring.
Parle Endeavors, a distinguished 501(c)3 non-profit, is dedicated to nurturing the aspirations of young adults through mentorship, scholarships, grants, exposure, and invaluable experiences. Their mission extends to providing vital opportunities in the arts, media, journalism, entrepreneurship, and related fields, demonstrating a holistic approach to youth development.
The “Day of Motivation,” a cornerstone of the Youth Empowerment Weekend, held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), served as a vibrant hub of learning and connection. This free event, open to all youth and families, offered a rich tapestry of panels, workshops, and networking opportunities. Attendees benefited from professional headshots, speed networking sessions, and a comprehensive career fair, all designed to prepare them for post-secondary success.
The schedule was packed with engaging sessions, including:
- “Ready, Set, Startup: From Idea to Launch – Starting A Non-profit”
- “Creative Careers: Exploring Opportunities in the Humanities and Arts”
- “Express Yourself: The Art of Spoken Word”
- “How To Network, Build Connections & The Importance of Collaboration” (featuring the founder/publisher of ENSPIRE Magazine, Ese Ofurhie)
- “Money Moves: Financial Literacy Simplified”
- “Next-Level Tech: AI for Your Future”
- “Media 360: Inside Radio, Digital & TV”
- A “MAYORAL FORUM” where youth interviewed a mayoral representative, providing a unique platform for civic engagement.
The event fostered an environment where young minds could connect with peers, mentors, and industry professionals, gaining insights from trailblazers who have transformed ambitious ideas into tangible success. From resume and cover letter reviews to an awards ceremony celebrating achievements, every aspect was meticulously planned to ignite ambition and supercharge futures. I had the privilege of facilitating a panel.
Parle Endeavors’ commitment extends beyond single events. They are also known for their Youth Empowerment Poetry Slams and Writing & Performance Workshops, further showcasing their dedication to fostering diverse talents and providing platforms for self-expression. They have been recognized for their impactful work, including being a proud recipient of the 2023 BeyGood Impact Grant.
