( ENSPIRE Community Spotlight ) Donkeeboy, Kam Franklin and More Come Together with Crown Royal to Raise a Glass to Houston Cultura and Unveil La Esquina’s New Food Truck
Contributor: LaShonda Thompson
Some of Houston’s finest gathered with Diageo and Crown Royal to raise a glass to unveil the new La Esquina’s Food Truck. The event also recognized the Hispanic artists and local street food vendors who serve their communities through art and food, sharing their generosity stories.
The community event invited guests to celebrate Monterrey-inspired Mexican food truck, La Esquina, and Mexican American street artist Donkeeboy, who unveiled his latest work of art–a newly designed exterior of the truck that honors La Esquina’s heritage and the generous support they’ve given Houston through vibrant visual storytelling.
Throughout the night, guests enjoyed a curated menu of Crown Royal cocktails, paired with delicious bites from La Esquina, while dancing to a live DJ set by Gracie Chavez. Notable Houston tastemakers like R&B singer Kam Franklin from The Suffers and Yvonne Guidry, aka Spoiled Latina, popped in to support and join the celebration.
The celebration that highlighted Mexican culture from the food palate to the painter’s palette was the third leg of Diageo’s multicity program that pairs Hispanic artists with Hispanic food truck vendors to revitalize their trucks with new, vibrant designs and murals that tell their story.
