His name is actually an acronym for, “Keep Achieving Success and Stay Humble”, a motto that Tony lives by.

Tony believes there isn’t “one lane” of music that he fits into. Whichever lanes he chooses to take, he is certainly turning heads and gaining attention taking them. He recently competed in the Coast 2 Coast Live World Championship Finals, additionally earning a Top 10 spot amongst the thousands of artists competing worldwide and nearly 300 that were invited to compete.

ENSPIRE Magazine spoke with Tony Kassh on his music, goals, and just what the name Kassh truly stands for.

What messages do you want to send through your music?

My music is based on my experiences and the experiences of people close to me. The main message I hope to send is to never give up and work hard. No matter what the situation, I want people to try their best to overcome every obstacle that comes their way. Ultimately, I want to inspire people through my words.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned while pursuing music?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that I need to understand the business side even more than the music aspect of things. Making the music is the easy part, but it’s the business side is key to my success. With the help of my team, I’m also learning how to align myself with the best opportunities rather than going after everything that comes my way.

Is there any advice that you have for rising artists trying to get their music out?

Network, network, network, never stop learning, and most importantly, remain humble. It’s important to be confident in yourself but don’t allow that to get to your head, because this is a never-ending journey. Another important thing to know is that while social media gives us access to share our music more broadly and network with key people in the business, it also presents more opportunities for scammers. Always do your homework when presented with an opportunity, and if it feels to be too good to be true, it likely is.

What are some achievements that have stuck with you throughout your pursuits?

The love I receive for my music is truly humbling. I put music out so often because I want the world to hear it and give their opinions. I am also proud that I recently finished in the top 10 at the Coast 2 Coast Live World Championship Finals. I competed against thousands of artists from across the globe and nearly 300 who came to compete in Miami that weekend. It was a dope experience that I will never forget.

As an artist, what are some of your goals?

Musically, I want to be successful and inspire people across the world through my work. Ultimately, my goal is to take care of my family and build a legacy that my children can benefit from. They are my biggest inspiration and I live to make them proud of their father.

Your motto is, “Keep Achieving Success and Stay Humble”, why do you feel it is important to stay humble?

I believe that humility and remembering where you come from are key to becoming and remaining successful. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be confident of course but remaining humble will keep you grounded.

Who are your biggest influences in music?

Some of my biggest influences are Lil Wayne, Cassidy, Drake and Kendrick. Overall, I’m inspired by many of the top hip-hop and R&B artists from the 90’s and beyond.
