Offset fans don’t have to wait any longer to listen to “5 4 3 2 1”, a track that the Migos member has been teasing online since the beginning of January. The official release date had been kept a secret until Offset posted a series of cryptic sneak peeks on Instagram, finally dropping the track on Friday (Aug. 19) at midnight.

While Offset has been featured on several recent tracks, including Calvin Harris’ “New to Me” and “Big 14” with Trippie Redd and Moneybagg Yo, the release of “5 4 3 2 1” represents the rapper’s first solo single and music video in three years.

In an Instagram video, Offset thanked his producer and announced that “5 4 3 2 1” is intended to usher in his new album, which is a follow-up to the artist’s 2019 solo debut Father of Four. “I ain’t coming to play no games…I’m going crazy” and “I’m not letting up,” says Offset in reference to his next album.

Hitting shelves and major streaming services amid the rumored split of the Migos trio, Offset’s Baby Keem-produced music video is set in an amusement park and features the artist in head-to-toe Balenciaga. The official music video already has an impressive 1.4 million views on YouTube.

While Offset’s Facebook bio describes him at 1/3 of Migos, fans have grown increasingly suspicious of the trio and rumors have surfaced that he has secretively left Migos completely. In fact, the other two members of the infamous trio, Quavo and Takeoff, have continued to produce music together without Offset. Their duo’s first track, “Hotel Lobby”, was released in May and their latest, “Us vs. Them”, dropped earlier this month.
