Ciara has arrived with a new single collab with Summer Walker called “Better Thangs”. This new R&B track follows Ciara’s single “Jump” from this summer. This officially marks her first new single in two years. Let’s explore how these Atlantic Native artists got to this point in their careers.
Ciara describes “Better Thangs” as “a feel-good R&B anthem for elevating every aspect of your life” to “bring joy while inspiring the continuous evolution of one’s self.” The last we heard from Ciara was back in 2019 with her album “Beauty Marks”. She also dropped a song “Melanin” featuring Lupita Nyong’o, La La Anthony, and City Girls. In 2020 Ciara released “Rooted” produced by Hudson Mohawke and Stargate.
Ciara makes a comment about working with Summer Walker. “I have so much respect for my girl Summer and it’s fitting to have her on the record because we connect on so many levels, from where we come from, to our journeys and our mission to inspire other people to go after what they deserve in life… better thangs!”
Back in 2021, Summer Walker released the album “Still Over”. She also has been featured in songs with SZA (“No Love”), the Weeknd (“Best Friends” Remix), and recently Ari Lennox in “Queen Space”)
