( ENSPIRE Music ) Queens SongBird Alice Laurissa is ‘Driftin’ into the Spotlight with New Music

Alice Laurissa is slowly making a name for herself in the music world. The triple threat musician, singer, and teacher is gearing up to release her long-awaited debut album after giving her growing fan base a few EPs over the years. The Queens native site artists like Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Salt N Pepa, Mary J Blige, TLC, Toni Braxton, Brandy & more as huge inspirations to have peppered her for the journey to keep going as she independently continues to release music all on her terms. Growing up music was always a passion of hers and at the tender age of 6 she began to take piano lessons which truly changed the trajectory of her life. The classical training was just the beginning of so much more to come in her journey in music, but her foundation also came from the church.

Singing in the children’s choir was where she began to show off her gift of singing, which is exactly why she felt right at home years later in the gospel choir at the prestigious LaGuardia High School. The ‘FAME’ school is undeniably one of the world’s most competitive yet rewarding performing arts institutions. It should come as no surprise that Alice excelled as a musician and singer in this space, ultimately leading her to pursue a degree in music education years later. With that degree, she could privately teach kids how to play the piano and would go on to open up her school. The Laurissa Jane Music Studios, which offers lessons to musicians, vocalists, dancers, and actors, has been a mainstay in her life for the past 12 years, allowing her to pay it forward. Now, although she shines as a teacher, her gift for teaching has slowly but surely kept her from pursuing music as an artist full-time.

Within the last four years, Alice has released two buzz-worthy EPs, ‘Again’ + ‘Complex Love,’ which garnered some attention while she performed at many venues between the DMV area and NYC. But her recent cover of Alicia Keys’ hit ‘So Done’ caught her growing fan base’s attention, ultimately leading her to go back into the studio to release her latest single ‘Driftin’. The feel-good R&B record is just the perfect appetizer for so much more from the rising star who is finally stepping into the spotlight all on her own. Look for new music from her highly anticipated debut later this year, but for now, get into her latest, which is now available on all music streaming platforms.
